A Brighter Day, Darker Night

One of the bigger issues of modern living is insufficient brightness during the day, and too much artificial light at night (ALAN).

Most of us don't see the light of day the moment we get up from bed in the morning. Children go to school. Parents, and working adults go to office. The setting transitions from indoor to indoor. We have the least exposure to morning sunlight, and too much exposure to indoor lighting, which 99% emit harmful blue light and high flicker rate, and insufficient brightness causing mental and eye fatigue, and low energy throughout the day.

As the day ends, we weather through traffic, in our cars, maybe get our dinner at some restaurants, before finally get home. Again, the setting transitions from indoor to indoor, inside glass windows, and never see the sunsets. After long hours at work, we finally deserve some personal time, so we keep the lights on while we watch some TV shows, browse the internet, scroll our phones and keep up with social media. We do all these things, from day to night, all under poorly designed indoor lighting and ALAN with total disregard of human health.

Pseudo-Innovation
Is Everywhere

Most products today aren’t solving problems—they’re dressing up old tech with new marketing.

Here’s the hard truth: pseudo-innovation is easier. It’s easier to make a pretty frame than rethink the light source. It’s easier to add a useless feature than tackle the core problem. And it’s easier to look investible than to be truly innovative.
